BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Stain-Blocking Paint and Primer* is an interior paint that’s too tough to scuff and sets a new standard for paint durability. BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE features breakthrough innovation to deliver a rich finish that is truly durable enough for high-traffic areas. This soft eggshell sheen creates a velvety appearance that’s easy to clean and stands up to scrubbing. - Ideal for busy high traffic areas, family rooms, living rooms, dining rooms, bedrooms, kids’ rooms and hallways
- Eggshell sheen offers a soft velvety appearance
- Excellent hide; 5 gallons cover up to 2000 sq. ft. depending on application, color and surface porosity
- For best application, use a high quality 3/8 in. – 1/2 in. nap roller cover, nylon/polyester brush or airless sprayer (0.015 in. – 0.019 in. spray tip, 60 mesh filter)
- Use BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a primer for properly prepared uncoated or painted interior surfaces, including woods that contain tannins (2 primer coats required for redwood and cedar) and heavily stained areas
- Lock in stains with BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint as a spot primer, for heavy stains, test for stain bleed-through by applying BEHR ULTRA SCUFF DEFENSE Paint to a small section, if stain bleeds through, spot prime another coat to the stained area and test again before top coating, if bleeding continues, a longer dry time is needed before top coating
- Apply when air and surface temperatures are between 50°F-90°F (10°C-32°C), darker colors may require additional dry time between coats, cooler temperatures or higher humidity may prolong drying time
- The true benefit is an eggshell finish appearance with scuff resistance of a gloss, a combination not typical in traditional lower sheen paints
