A benchtop mortising machine for cutting square holes. The T33127 Benchtop Hollow-Chisel Mortiser utilizes 4-sided chisels surrounding a drill bit to cut square holes. It can also double as a drill press when chucking a drill bit up to 1/2 in. size. The multi-positional handle maximizes leverage to plunge the bits into your workpieces. The 1/2 HP motor, easily adjustable depth stop and smooth rack-and-pinion head travel will make consistent, easy work of mortises in even the hardest of wood types. The double steel support columns are well suited for day-to-day operations and they save on the encumbering weight of solid cast-iron construction. The T33127 is light enough to be easily moved around the shop, yet still maintain rigidity for repeatable precision mortises. There is even a built-in tool storage rack on the back of the headstock for convenience.
